The Toddlers enjoyed their time outside soaking up some warm sun. The developed their gross motor skills by pushing carts, climbing over the obstacle course and using the slide. One way children learn about their self-identities by holding up a mirror to study their faces and drawing what they saw. Self-portraits are a fantastic way for children to explore their sense of self and build their self-identity. As the children are drawing and looking at themselves they are not only developing a sense of awareness of themselves but of others around them as well. The Kindy and the Junior Kindy children had a very special visit from Little Aussie Encounters. This time they brought lot of different scaly friends for the children to touch, feel and hold. The children could feel how some of the scales were soft and others were spikey. We were even given the experience of holding a snake under his belly.
